Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort
For the duration of our eight-night stay in Bali the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Sofitel's first-ever luxury resort on the island acted as our home away from home, and what a beautiful home it was.

THE ROOM.
But, let's start with the room. We were lucky enough to stay within a Pool Access Luxury Room, which meant we could literally step straight from our room into the resort's lagoon swimming pool - highly recommend - it's definitely one way of making Bali's humidity a little more tolerable. Oh, and another perk was the swim-up pool bar was only a few easy freestyle strokes away, so needless to say we never missed happy hour.
Staying in such a room also meant we were able to enjoy exclusive Club Millesime access, the resort's sophisticated club lounge, which offered nightly free-flow cocktails and canapés, daily high-tea, a la carte breakfast, as well as all-day refreshments and snacks; so we certainly had a jam-packed schedule to keep up with, that's for sure.
AMENITIES.
The room was just a taste of the beauty of this sprawling resort. The actual property was simply stunning, seamlessly blending both signature Sofitel French elegance with authentic Balinese charm. The major draw card of the hotel, however, has to be the massive lagoon-style pool that stretches almost the length of the resort, closely followed by its prime, absolute beachfront location.
A morning or late afternoon stroll along the beach, allowing you to pass some of the other lavish resorts that call Nusa Dua home is recommended. As is lounging under one of the many Sofitel-owned thatched umbrellas sprawled out on the beach - you know to break up the routine of simply lounging by the pool all day.
Plus, when we visited guests staying at the Sofitel also had exclusive use of the world-removed Niki Beach Bali, which was adjacent to the resort. However, this is no longer the case, as this venue is now permanently closed.
DINING.
When it comes to food, the Sofitel Bali really knows how to put on a spread, that's for sure. Do yourself a favour, regardless of whether you're staying at the resort, and try the delectable Weekend Chic Brunch held at the Sofitel's main restaurant, Cut Catch Cucina - it's a must. Trust me it's worth it, even if it is for the irresistible selection of desserts alone, as you can see below.
