In the heart of Tsimshatsuisui East on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, the InterContinental Grand Stanford existed as the ideal base for a first-time visit to the bustling, concrete jungle that is Hong Kong.

Voted the World's Leading Luxury Business Hotel, along with Asia's Leading Business Hotel in 2018, the aptly named InterContinental Grand Stanford is exactly that, grand. With high ceilings and incredible chandeliers the property makes a great first impression upon entry.

The award-wining property is conveniently positioned right on Victoria Harbour and steps away from the famous Avenue of the Stars, and is also in close walking distance to the MRT which takes you across to the CBD of Hong Kong.

THE ROOM.

With 572 luxuriously-appointed guest rooms and suites to select from, there is plenty of room configurations available, some with city views, some overlooking the magnificent harbour.

Although a full harbour view would have been lovely, we opted to stay in a Premier Room, which simply overlooked the city streets. The approximately 28 square metre room was exactly what you'd expect from an InterContinental - clean, modern and functional - nothing more, nothing less.

AMENITIES.

Representative of a five-star hotel, the property included amenities as such, including a concierge, fitness centre, spa, room service, and a swimming pool.

The Sun Court Pool was located on the property's rooftop, which was an absolute godsend, as the humidity in Hong Kong is next level and was especially felt visiting the city in the peak of summer. The only downside with the pool was often it was in full sun.

DINING.

Offering views of Victoria Harbour, each morning of our stay we enjoyed a buffet breakfast at the chic buffet and all-day dining restaurant, Cafe on M. The buffet was one of the best experienced due to its sheer size and selection available; everything you could possibly want, from Western classics to authentic local favourites, were all on offer.

We also enjoyed a complimentary drink one evening in the property's elegant Lobby Lounge, as a result of our IHG membership.

Beyond this, guests can choose to dine on-site at Italian kitchen, Theo Mistral by Theo Randall, or one of Hong Kong's finest Chinese restaurants, one-Michelin star, Hoi King Hee and indulge in a pre or post-dinner drink at Tiffany's New York Bar on the lobby level. Otherwise, some of Hong Kong’s best bars and restaurants are within walking distance from the hotel (read out the best bars to drink at in Hong Kong here).
