Grand Park City Hall
Centrally positioned within the heart of Singapore, a stone's throw from all the city's major sights and a mere five-minute walk to the City Hall MRT station, the newly-renovated, five-star Grand Park City Hall was perfect for a few days of exploration.
Grand Park City Hall is one of sixteen properties within the Asia Pacific region in the Park Hotel Group's ever-expanding collection and is dubbed the most luxurious out of the six properties spread throughout Singapore.
This feeling of luxury and sophistication was immediate, as soon as you entered the foyer on the property's first floor, and flowed through to the lobby, three floors above, and finally to the room.
THE ROOM.
During our stay at Grand Park City Hall we stayed within a beautifully appointed, contemporary designed Twin Deluxe Room, comprising of two king single beds. Although not oozing space, only occupying 28-30 square metres, it was definitely spacious enough for what we needed. Plus, clever design features, such as the bathroom being made out of glass - slightly worrying upon arrival, though quickly found a button for the blinds - and the over-sized picture window, which offered views to the pool and gym directly opposite, aided in making the room feel larger.
The only real complaint I would say, regarding the room is it was located too far away from the lifts - it was a bit of a marathon, especially considering how much walking we ended up doing each day!
AMENITIES.
When the weather forecast is a high of 33 and a low of 27 degrees celsius every day, not to mention the humidity that makes it feel as though it is significantly warmer, a swimming pool at your hotel is a must in Singapore. Mercifully, there was one at Grand Park City Hall and it was a rather nice one at that. It was well sized and featured daybeds and plenty of lounge chairs, all of which were partially submerged in the water. The only complaint would be the water temperature, which was on the warmer side, which made it less refreshing.
Beyond the outdoor swimming pool, the property offers 24-hour room service, 24-hour access to a gymnasium and a complimentary shuttle bus service to Orchard Rd, Suntec City, and other major landmarks.
DINING.
Tablescape Restaurant and Bar exists as the property's one and only dining option for guests and is situated on the same level as the lobby. Specialising in modern European cuisine, Tablescape is where buffet breakfast is served each morning, which we enjoyed throughout our stay and where a la carte lunch and dinner are served daily and high tea offered on weekends.
Outside of the hotel, located in the heart of Singapore’s CBD, you'll find some of the city’s best bars and restaurants a short walk away (read about the best places to eat in Singapore here and the best places to drink here).
