Elements of Byron

I’ve wanted to stay at Elements of Byron for awhile now, so when a trip to the Whitsundays fell through a few months ago (thanks to covid and border closures), a few nights away at Byron - where I was able to see my brother who lives in Sydney - seemed like the next best thing!

After six years of planning, design and development and $100 million dollars, Elements of Byron opened at the beginning of 2016, bringing five-star barefoot luxury to Byron Bay. Situated on 22 hectares, with nature all around, although only less than a ten-minute drive to the main town of Byron Bay, staying at this award-winning beachfront resort feels like your a world away, from anything.

Whilst at Elements one can choose to be active and adventurous - go horse-riding, learn to surf, start the morning with beachfront yoga, take a guided forest walk, borrow electric bikes, play a game of tennis, bocce or giant chess - or alternatively, do absolutely nothing, either way, you could easily spend a week here and still feel like you never want to leave.

THE ROOM.

There isn’t any rooms at Elements, rather 203 luxury freestanding villas - eight different types, no less. All with award-winning design, stylish coastal interiors with custom artisan fittings and hosted in breathtaking nature, the villas differ in terms of size, layout and their physical location within the resort. There is a choice of one and two bedroom villas, some of which overlook the lagoon, some mere steps from the beach, and some in the heart of the Eucalyptus forest.

During our stay at Elements we stayed in the most popular and widespread one-bedroom villa, the Botanica Villa. Featuring a king bed or twin bedding, an ensuite which features a stunning freestanding bathtub, a kitchenette, seperate indoor living area, and study/desk, this 50 square metre villa offers plenty of space. Plus, surrounded by nature these villas also offer a place to sit and be one with nature with two comfortable chairs out on the entry deck.

AMENITIES.

Elements of Bryon offers guests not one, but two incredible pools to choose from, - for adult guests, anyway - both of which are temperature controlled year-round as well as a Beach Lounge. Beyond the two incredible pools and beach lounge, you may also be interested in checking out the resort’s tranquil, light-filled Osprey Spa - pampering yourself with a signature ritual or personalised spa treatment promises to make you truly unwind and rejuvenate.

The resort’s centrally-located pool (heated to 27 degrees celsius), features a heated spa, offers full poolside service and is surrounded by private cabanas and hanging day beds.

For 18+ year old guests, the adults only pool, heated to 30 degrees celsius and voted Australia’s best hotel pool will likely prove incredibly tempting. Featuring luxe private cabanas, poolside loungers and a swim-up bar which serves signature cocktails and Mexican finger food, it’s very easy to spend the whole day here.

Once you’re finished chilling by the pool all day, there is no better way to finishing the day than at Element’s Beach Lounge - ideal for sunbathing and chilled-out holiday reading. Secure one of the many king-sized day beds positioned on the sand and which offer unbroken view across the bay to Cape Byron and Julian Rocks and sit back and relax.

DINING.

AZURE BAR & GRILL

Azure Bar & Grill is the signature restaurant that calls the luxurious Elements of Byron home. Separated into Azure Bar & Grill Terrace and Azure Bar & Grill Dining Room, this culinary duo celebrates Byron Bay’s finest produce. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, the Azure Bar & Grill Terrace offers a casual-cool vibe of alfresco family meals peppered with luxury that is uniquely Elements. Described as classy and cool and only open for dinner (Tues-Sat), Azure Bar & Grill Dining Room rather offers a more refined (and expensive) experience, ideal for special occasions.
