The Savoy
The first purpose-built deluxe hotel in London, originally opening in 1889, the legendary The Savoy is no ordinary hotel. A magnet for the wealthy, the famous, the glamorous, and even the notorious, no matter how you arrive - whether in a classic black London cab or perhaps the hotel’s own Rolls-Royce - you immediately feel like you’ve arrived somewhere very special.
THE ROOM.
What would easily be mistaken for one of the many rooms you’d expect to find in Buckingham Palace, all 267 of The Savoy’s guest rooms and suites are thoughtfully and luxuriously-appointed. Decorated in either an elegant Edwardian or Art Deco style, many of the hotel’s rooms and suites boast unparalleled views across the River Thames and of London’s most significant landmarks.
AMENITIES.
Whilst the weather outside may be chilly and miserable, The Savoy’s magnificent swimming pool, situated in its own atrium with natural light and equipped with a jet-stream, is perfectly heated all year-round. Other facilities include a sauna and steam room, plus state-of-the art facilities with weights and cardiovascular equipment in the two gym areas.
DINING.
Regarded as the heart of the hotel, the Thames Foyer is a stunning glass-domed atrium, radiating natural light and sociable warmth. An impressive gazebo takes centre stage from which a pianist plays during the day, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Home to gorgeous afternoon teas and where the concept of a dinner dance was very first born, Thames Foyer is steeped in history.
THE RIVER RESTAURANT BY GORDON RAMSAY
The restaurant is located in the heart of the hotel with panoramic views of the River Thames, offering both guests and destination diners a beautifully classic, yet stylish and relaxed all-day dining environment. The River Restaurant showcases the very best shellfish and seafood the UK has to offer.
The American Bar is the longest surviving cocktail bar in London, first opening in 1893, and one of the most renowned in the world. Serving classics with a twist, new and vintage creations, the American Bar has since served countless well-known faces, from Winston Churchill to Ernest Hemingway.
The dramatic jet-black and gold décor of the Beaufort Bar provides the perfect setting for glamour and luxury. With a DJ playing sultry tunes after dark, the Beaufort Bar is the most charismatic of London locations to enjoy creative cocktails, prestige spirits and rare vintages.
