Daydream Island Resort

Accessible via ferry from Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island, Daydream Island Resort is ideally situated in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsundays Islands and is a gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef.

After complete destruction caused by Cyclone Debbie in earlier 2017, two years and $140 million later, the resort reopened to guests and is now once again a place where you can relax surrounded by crystal-clear waters.

Measuring 1km in length and 400m at its widest point, Daydream Island is a relatively small island easily covered on foot, with the resort spanning the entire island.

THE ROOM.

The resort offers guests a range of recently-refurbished, spacious and modern rooms and suites, each type varying in size and aspect. For a Superior Room you can choose from a room poolside, one with a view of the pool, or rather one overlooking the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays in an ocean view room.

Our Superior Ocean View Twin Room was contemporary and at 36sqm offered a comfortable amount of space. Upgrading was well worth it, as our room featured tranquil water views through floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, which provided an abundance of natural light.

AMENITIES.

Daydream Island is the perfect spot to relax and unwind and there’s plenty of places to do exactly that. On the island, you’ll find two large resort-style pools surrounded by daybeds and sunloungers and another pool at the southern end of the island. Also at the southern is what would have to be one of the most spectacular outdoor cinemas, with a different film playing nightly.

Plus, the resort features a state-of-the-art gym and a spa for those wanting to feel fully rejuvenated.
