Crown Towers Perth

The most expensive hotel ever built in Australia, costing an eye-watering six hundred and fifty million dollars, the Crown Towers Perth offers guests unparalleled luxury.

Opening only at the conclusion of 2017, the best word to describe the Crown Towers’ vast surrounds and incredible interiors is palatial. Upon entering the 480-room hotel, you immediately realise this is unlike any other hotel in the country. The grandeur and opulence of the lobby that greets you, alone, is truly extraordinary.

The property is positioned right on the eastern banks of the Swan River only minutes from Perth's CBD. Crown Towers is located amongst two other Crown properties, known as the Crown Metropol and the Crown Promenade.

THE ROOM.

For the duration of our four-night stay at the Crown, we stayed within an incredibly spacious Deluxe Twin Room, which featured two queen-sized beds, a chaise lounge and an oversized desk complemented by free Internet access and east-facing views. Plus, the lavish bathroom featured a stone bath with a television, no less.

AMENITIES.

The amenities, specifically the property's resort-style, expansive pool area was undoubtedly the primary reason why we chose to stay at the Crown Towers. The Crown Towers lagoon, multi-tiered pools are said to set a new benchmark for resort living, and I would have to agree, as nothing, to my knowledge, comes even close to matching the pool facilities of the Crown, in Australia anyway. Whilst, it is true such facilities may be able to be found at one of the many resorts sprawled across South East Asia, you'll struggle to find such facilities anywhere in the lucky country.

Needless to say, we enjoyed a considerable amount of time swimming and lounging around poolside.

DINING.

When it comes to dining at the Crown, you certainly will not be struggling to find somewhere close, as there is a staggering 32 restaurants and bars to choose from, across the three Crown property's, inclusive of Neil Perry's Rockpool Bar and Grill and internationally-renowned Japanese restaurant Nobu. Though, for when you do leave the hotel check out my guide to where to eat and drink in Perth here.

MODO MIO

Whilst staying at the Crown we had the pleasure of dining at a number of on-site eateries, one being the resident fine-dining Italian restaurant, Modo Mio, situated in the adjoining Crown Metropol.

WHAT WAS ORDERED:

TAGLIOLINI AI GAMBERI Prawn tagliolini with garlic, chilli and tomato.

PAPPARDELLE CON RAGU DI BRASATO Homemade pasta with braised beef shin and tomato ragu.

GNOCCHI AL POMODORO E FORMAGGIO AFFUMICATO Potato gnocchi with classic tomato sauce and smoked cheese.

THE MERRYWELL

Upon check-in at the Crown Towers, we were looking for a quick and reasonably priced lunch close by, before heading to the pool to relax in the remaining light of the day. This led us to the casual eatery known as The Merrywell, where we shared delicious bao buns and their famous wagyu beef sliders in the pub's outdoor beer garden.

WHAT WAS ORDERED:

KOREAN STYLE FRIED CHICKEN BAO BUNS Spicy fried chicken, shaved lettuce, minute pickle, peanuts, sriracha mayonnaise.

WAGYU BEEF BURGERS served with cheddar, pickles, caramelised onions, remoulade.

POOLSIDE DINING

To ensure we made the very most of the incredible facilities at the Crown Towers and soaked up all the Vitamin D we could, we also dined poolside one day, ordering breakfast and lunch from the nearby Epicurean restaurant.

WHAT WAS ORDERED:

BUTTERMILK PANCAKES Berry compote, maple syrup and vanilla cream.

BACON & EGG ROLL served with tomato relish.

CROWN TOWERS FISH AND CHIPS Crispy beer battered white fish and tartare sauce.

PINA COLADA Bacardi rum, Malibu, coconut puree and pineapple juice.

STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI Bacardi rum, strawberry puree and lime juice.

THE WAITING ROOM

Finally, before heading off to the nearby Boatshed Restaurant in South Perth for dinner, on our final night in the city of Perth, we had a pre-dinner drink at The Waiting Room, an ultra-sophisticated, award-winning bar which is just off the foyer of the Crown Towers Perth.
